mkh-stream

May 17th 2007, Atelier als Supermedium, Den Haag

Participating artists: Ellen rodenberg, Maarten Schepers, Hans Ensink op Kemna, Kees Koomen

Who is mkh?

Since 2006 mkh consists of the visual artists Ellen Rodenberg, Kees Koomen, Maarten Schepers and Hans Ensink op Kemna.
The mkh-group has worked a number of months in the project-space of DCR in Den Haag. In this period it worked on concepts and possibilities relating to the problem of giving context to the individual work by means of  exhibiting together in specific venues.
Mkh shows work which is produced specifically for a certain space.
The venue, its architecture and the nature of the exhibition space in terms of history, public and environment will decide the approach of mkh.
In this way we want to inspire each other and challenge the public to take a fresh look at the way an exhibition comes to existence.
In the exhibition, designed for a specific venue, individual artworks of the exhibitors can be seen as well as art which evolves from mkh-activities.

For Atelier al Supermedium we chose for the concept solo versus group:
There will be eight rooms.
Four times the visitor will encounter a space which is a solo-presentation of one of the artists.
Four times one visits a room in which one of the artists invited the others in a guest room to react to an artwork of his, resulting in a visual conversation.
